Can it be a web app?

Can it be a web based application whose design is responsive? It will work on the mobile phone but accessible through a browser.

If not, then are we looking at any particular OS (iOS, Android, WP)?

    No, the goal is to create a mobile app that can run on multiple platforms, such as Apple iOS, Windows and Android, and that makes the Respirator Trusted-Source content selectable and easy-to-use, reaching users with portable technology. The Trusted-Source web site is already accessible through the use of a browser.

    Does the app have to be uploaded to the various app stores as part of the submission process or can that be done after the prize is awarded? Some app stores, like Apple, will require fees to be paid and for the app to pass various application reviews. That is a lot to ask for of a non-commercial developer.

    No, the app doesn’t need to loaded to the various app stores as part of the submission process. Only the first place winner app will need to be uploaded.
